From his base in Verbier, Xavier has travelled the world in search of the limits of natural terrain riding. He has also appeared in several breath-taking films that showcase the pristine natural environments of Chamonix, the Antarctic and Alaska.
Home, however, is Verbier in Switzerland. Located in the shadow of the Mont Blanc, this famed Swiss ski resort is at the heart of one of the largest ski areas in Europe, the 4 Valleys.
Not surprisingly, this huge outdoor playground is renowned as a freeriders paradise, with legendary runs and snowboard lines galore.
An outstanding après-ski scene and endless alpine panoramas complete the picture, and it’s not hard to see why this is such a popular resort among all levels of ski and snowboard enthusiasts.
We asked Xavier just why Verbier has such a magnetic pull for powderhounds with a sense of adventure.
He says “What I like about freeriding in Verbier is the feeling of being in a low key resort, meaning that no one cares what you have or will be riding, and at the same time, the possibilities of different terrain are endless!”
If you are the type of powderhound who dreams of nothing but untouched snowfields and the thrill of the unknown piste, take note.
Verbier awaits in the Swiss Alps, eager to surprise you time and time again.
Favourite snowboard spotsMont Gelé, the Bec des Rosses, the Mont Fort ridge. Among many others, of course!
Favourite après-ski spotsVerbier also has a great (and rather famous) night life that I like to appreciate once in a while. My favourite places are the Pub Mont Fort, the Farinet and the Loft.
