360 kilometers of ski slopes at the hight of 3883 meters – winter paradise Zermatt. In Zermatt you can ski in summer as well, moreover in two countries at the same time! The ski region of Zermatt is divided into the regions of Rothorn, Gornergrat, Matternhorn glacier paradise and Cervinia at the Italian side. With 75 blue, 63 black and 220 red ski slopes kilometers you will have real ski fun of any taste here. There are plenty of ways to have fun in Zermatt: snow parks, fun parks and many great alternatives of winter sports such as sledging or winter hiking. 1. Trockener Steg (for complete beginners) At the valley station Trockener Steg you will find a rope lift with a small flat slope where you can practice. The flat practice slope is perfect for those who never tried skiing before. Top tip: very small children can practice here too! 2. Theodul Gletcher (beginners area) Zermatt has a big number of challenging ski slopes but the beginners will find here nice slopes as well. At Theodul Gletcher you will find easy and broad slopes where you and your children can make big steep curves. Tip tip: the ski slope number 78 and 73 are particularly good for the beginners and children! 3. Gornergrat (easy ski slope) At the height of 3089 meters also the beginners can ski along the gentle slopes of the mountain. Both children and beginners adults can learn here at the perfectly prepared ski slopes while enjoying the amazing panorama. Top tip: The descent into the valley is relative steep here; use the gondola to return to valley. 4. Schwarzsee paradise (for families) The Schwarzsee paradise is the perfect ski region for families. With the extra kids park the little ones can make their first attempts and learn at the safe ski slopes how to ski while having lots of fun. Here you will also find easy and medium difficult ski slopes where the skiers with more experience can let off steam. Top tip: Here you will find also a number of good ski schools which will help children as well as adults to learn skiing fast and safe. 5. Piste 59 (for advanced skiers!) The black Piste 59 a really advanced-level one is situated in the valley area of Cervina, the Italian part of ski region. Around 70 % of the slopes are extremely challenging and you better have no soft knees while skiing here! Top tip: the ski slope is really for the advances skiers only, the beginner skiers shall better avoid it. 6. Gravity Park (for free skiers and snowboarders) The Gravity Park is the utmost fun experience throughout the year in Zermatt ski region for free rider and snowboarders. You will find here the elements like kicker, super pipe and jib-element. Freestylers of all kinds and advanced surfers will have here lots of fun for sure! Top tip: The aerial railway to Matternhirn glacier paradise will bring you directly to this fun area! 7. Snow park Zermatt (for free riders and snowboarders) In the Zermatt snow park a free rider and snowboarder will find everything one’s heart is longing for. Boardercross pistes, beginner lines with springs and boxes as well as rail garden with eight rails. Top tip: The snow park has all levels of difficulties for all ages! Fun is guaranteed! 8. Täsch (sledging fun) You will find here the longest 3,64 lm sledging slope in Zermatt. Fun for the entire family with wonderful mountain panorama! Top tip: The sledging slope Randa has a flat sledging slope especially good for families with small children! 9. Gornergrat (winter hiking) The Gornergrat is perfect for winter hiking and snow-shoeing. Here you will find easy, difficult and middle-difficult routes combined with the perfect views at the Matternhorn. Top tip: the hiking routes follow the wonderful landscape terraces, stop by in the beautiful mountain huts and power up your descent! 10. Matterhorn ski safari (absolute ski adventure) With the Matternhorn ski safari you will conquer 10000 meters of altitude distance within one day. You will start at Rotherhorn and follow further across Theodulgletscher, the Trocjenen Steg and Matternhorn glacier paradise, Breuil-Cervinia and Testa Grigia. In the evening the way lies through the Stafelalp back to Zermatt! Top tip: choose here between two different routes where you will cover the distance of either 10.500 or 12.500 meters.
