Ski Davos – insider tips!

Davos stands for snow guarantee, individuality and mostly sunshine! Use our Guide to find the best slopes, fun parks, snow parks or black runways!
In Switzerland’s safest snow area you have the agony of choice, because here you have to choose between six excellent ski areas! In Davos you also find the first decelerated ski area in Europe. To make sure you find the best slopes in this 320 km ski area our expert Michael Weixler summarized all benefits and difficulties in this easy to use guide.

1. The Jakobshorn (For snowboarder and free rider)

The Jakobshorn is what people call an event mountain, because here always something is going on. The fun park is a paradise for free rider and snowboarder and the fun doesn’t stop on the slopes. With many ski huts at the slopes it is also a great place for a little party at the mountain.

Top tip: There are a lot of national and international sport events on the Jakobshorn – get informed beforehand

2. The Parsenn (For everyone!)

The ski area Parsenn is the larges ski area of the region and here you find all levels of difficulties – starting with slopes for children and ending with black runways – everything you wish for!

Top tip: Here is also the longest ski slope with 12 km from Weissfluhgipfel to Küblis.

3. The Rinerhorn (For demanding skiers and nature lovers)

In the mountains of Davos the Rinerhorn is the ultimate insider tip. The slopes of the Rinerhorn are quite challenging and not really appropriate for beginners. The Rinerhorn is a lot quieter than the Jakobshorn and here you ski in virgin nature.

Top Tip: On the Rinerhorn you can also find a 3,5 km long sledge slope, which opens for romantic tours two times a week in the evening.

4. The Madrisa ski area (sun abundant for families)

The adventure park Madrisa-Land with 90.000 sqm provides perfect ski fun for the whole family. The childcare service takes care of your kids and shows them how to ski in a funny and safe surrounding. For the parents the Madrisa ski area offers varied slopes – a fun area for everyone!

Top tip: Children under six enter the child land for free.

5. Schatzalp / Strela (The decelerated ski area for beginners and relaxed people)

This is the place to have a look at Europe’s first decelerated ski area. On the sunny side of Davos full of tradition ski area was built. The tow-bar for the ski lift will be given in your hand by a friendly person and with nice traditional music you go up the gentle hills.

Top tip: There are also great winter hiking routes, where you can enjoy the winter wonderland of Davos in perfect silence!

6. The Pischa ski area (For alternative snow fun like winter hiking)

The Pischa ski area is the best place for everyone who likes to enjoy Davos from its more silent side. This area is especially great for cross-country skiing, snowshoe trekking or winter hiking.

Top tip: If you just want to enjoy the silence and the sun – this is also the best place for you!
