This sugar-filled tour is set to delight children and adults alike while they explore Zurich’s old town and its best sweet shops; even those not listed on guidebooks and fiercely kept a secret by locals due to their delicious treats made with ancient recipes passed down through the generations.
Guided by the friendly and knowledgeable Kerrin of MyKugelhopf, participants learn over the course of 2.5 hours the secrets behind the confection of some of the most mouth-watering treats and the history of chocolate and cocoa beans from passionate shopkeepers.
But that’s not everything.
Each shop holds a tasty treat to sweeten the walking: finger-licking chocolate bars, flavoured truffles, pralines, homemade ice creams, confections and of course Swiss hot chocolate.
Starting at 2pm in the afternoon, from Tuesday to Friday, this is a must-do activity for those travelling with children and a unique experience for those who may have visited Zurich before.
Private and customised tours can be arranged upon request making it also perfect for families who may be in the city for business.
The cost is 85 CHF per person; a tiny little price to be a child again, don't you think?
