A day in the Ticino area to visit modern architecture work of Mario Botta such as Banca del Gottardo in Lugano and Casa Rotonda in Stabio, continue to Monte Ceneri, gondola up to Monte Tamaro, which offers an unlimited view of the sky.

Starting at Rivera on the foot of Monte Ceneri, the gondola train takes visitors up to an altitude of 1,530 meters above sea level.
The organizer of this train line commissioned the well-known Ticinese architect Botta to build a chapel dedicated to the memory of his late wife. Botta chose the Alp Foppa as the location - since 1985 this Alp has been home to a statue of the Madonna which was blessed by the Pope himself.
