The Geneva International Airport is a 45-minute car trip away.
Overview:
Established 1882, Brillantmont School provides an elite high school education to the leaders of tomorrow.
The prestigious boarding and day school welcomes both boys and girls aged 13-18, with pupils from Switzerland and worldwide. Students interact (and often share rooms) with colleagues from around the globe, which fosters a multicultural community and a dynamic international mindset.
The independent family owned and run institution has an average class size of just nine, ensuring every student gets sufficient attention to thrive.
Luxurious boarding rooms boast lake or Swiss Alps views, while the school’s first-rate facilities include a multipurpose hall, gymnasium, and stage.
Core Values:
As an international school, Brillantmont promotes an inclusive, multinational community where intercultural exchange is the everyday norm.
Only around 80 students may enrol in this boutique institute at any one time, resulting in a homely environment that feels more like family than school. Long-lasting relationships between peers, teachers, and boarding staff boost morale and enhance networking opportunities.
Tailor-made tuition is a core focus at Brillantmont; the school has some of the smallest class sizes in Switzerland. Every student receives the customized teacher support they need to excel in their academic pursuits.
Academics:
All students in Grades 8-9 study a wide range of subjects, covering core subjects like Mathematics, Science, and English plus Music, Art, STEAM and robotics.
In Grade 10, students can start to tailor their programme to the subjects they enjoy, taking ownership of their learning journey.
In Grades 11-12, students select the Diploma of their choice, either the UK or US Programme.
Brillantmont is one of the few schools in Switzerland to run an IGCSE & A Level British Programme with a Cambridge International Assessment. Alternatively, students may enrol in the American Programme to receive a US High School Graduation Diploma.
Both options open the door to top universities around the world.
Classes are taught entirely in English, and most students take French lessons as part of the standard curriculum (there’s ample opportunity to practice in Lausanne).
Extracurricular Activities:
Brillantmont offers a smorgasbord of sporty activities to foster both friendships and fun. Active programs are compulsory to promote a healthy lifestyle and vary throughout the year to take advantage of the seasons and surrounding terrain.
Other extracurricular activities promote critical thinking and allow students to follow their passions. Examples include music, cooking, art, engineering, and debating, to name a few. Furthermore, The Habitat for Humanity, Model United Nations, Young Enterprise, Engineering, and Soup Kitchen programmes prove popular every year.
Ski trips and European mini-breaks are common during weekends and holidays.
