The Association of SLH – Switzerland’s leading private clincs and hospitals

Founded in 1999, the Association of Swiss Leading Hospitals (SLH) has over recent years established itself as an important pillar in the Swiss hospital landscape. It currently has 19 member hospitals in Switzerland, catering for all medical sectors. It is the only independent group of the some of the best private clinics in Switzerland whose services are available nationwide and due to its local presence, member hospitals can very much focus on the immediate market needs. Their management style is friendly and relaxed and not aimed solely at maximising profit.

SLH member hospitals and clinics in Switzerland must be privately owned, financially sound and independent. Swiss Leading Hospitals strictly refuses membership to large groups with holding structures and speculative foreign investors. With its consistent quality top management, it can comfortably refute the common allegation that private hospitals are an expensive luxury. Best patient satisfaction, shorter stays in clinics, higher bed occupancy rates, and therefore also lower costs than the national Swiss average, are the results of this consistently applied philosophy.

From the time it was founded, Swiss Leading Hospitals had a vision to develop a worldwide association of leading hospitals. The first foreign “Accredited Member”, The JSC Medicina Hospital in Moscow, was accepted in 2007. It is hoped that by 2012, worldwide a further 15 hospitals will join the association. For reasons of exclusivity, the number of member top private clinics in Switzerland will be restricted to a maximum of 25.
